We are done with final exams and we can't wait until Summer break so we can relax and get away from our boring routines. The summer is suppose to be fun, but don't waste it away sitting on the couch or at the beach. Here are some more nontraditional activities that you could do in the summer.
1. Get an internship. If you're like me, you're dying to get started in your field and you're eager to get some experience. Try visiting Career Service to see what opportunities are available for you or you could do your own research and find a place that you would like to intern at. Fun is important, but internships can be vital in our future careers.

2. Get a job and save money. Instead of taking out loan after loan during these four years, take the summer to start saving up for future experiences. College is very expensive and working to stay afloat is almost required. Expenses could include books, tuition, housing and studying abroad. Which brings me to my next point.
3. Study abroad.
Ok, so maybe this will involve some school work, but it is also an opportunity to immerse yourself in a different culture. It gives you new experiences and expands your networking to a global level. Take the opportunity to meet and bond with people from different countries while learning more about the country you are in. The Study Abroad Office at Town Pointe has so many programs and destinations to choose from. Go find the right pick for you!

4. Take summer courses here at KSU. Don't shoot the messenger, but summer courses can be greatly beneficial, especially when trying to push-up your graduation date. KSU offers many courses during the summer term and it is a great fit for those who wish not to be stuck in the same class for four months. You don't have to wait for fall semester to get your education!
5. Get in shape! During fall and Spring semester, we're all usually too busy to take time out for our health. Since there is so much more free time during the summer, use it to take care of your body, get in shape, and possibly start a healthier life style that can be beneficial in the long run. I know what you're thinking, but I don't particularly like working out either. We can't neglect our health though because we won't be young forever!
